Smoke jumper photos. Training jump at La Grande, Oregon, where the North Cascades Smokejumper Base had a satellite base for many years. Twin Beech aircraft with the affectionate nickname 'Jumper Dumper'. The white/yellow line is a static line deploying the parachute. Second jumper is getting ready to go. The Jumper Dumper normally dropped two jumpters per pass. Called a 'two-man stick'. |
